Flex Fuel

Flex fuel is a system that allows a vehicle to run on a blend of gasoline and ethanol, typically in the range of E20 to E85. When using flex fuel, an ethanol content sensor is installed in the vehicle to communicate with the engine control unit (ECU) and adjust the amount of boost and timing based on the ethanol content. This allows the vehicle to take advantage of the high octane and knock resistance of ethanol while also preventing the fuel system from being overwhelmed. To use flex fuel, a flex fuel kit and a flex fuel tune are required. The kit installs the ethanol content sensor, and the tune adjusts the ECU to take advantage of the higher ethanol content. It's important to note that not all vehicles are compatible with flex fuel, and it's important to do research and consult with a professional before making any modifications.
